![]() The mechanics themselves are a mix of features from Ace Combat 4 and 5. TL DR Software mode runs the games perfectly, but requires a good CPU. Game description: Ace Combat Zero's gameplay is split into a single-player campaign mode and a two-player versus mode. For some reason 5 restricts your view too much. Project Aces aims to revolutionize the sky with this entry in the series, offering an experience so immersive it feels like youre piloting an actual aircraft Weather and the environment affect your aircraft and the HUD, adding a sense of extreme realism never felt before in a flight combat game. Cockpit mode is much better than it was on 5. Once in a while I get drops into the 50's in third person mode, at which point i just switch to cockpit real quick.ĪC0: 60 Fps everywhere in and our of cockipt mode minus maybe 2 missions where you get slight drops. AC04 runs the worst of the three games.ĪC5: 60 FPS on most missions minus 1 or 2, in or out of cock pit mode. Any missiles or gunfire harmlessly pass through the aircraft. However, when I actually enter the first mission, there appears to be some sort of collision issue where the bombers are unable to be killed at all. HOWEVER, running these games on software mode requires a pretty good CPU. This runs the Ace Combat games without error for the most part. ![]() Software Rendering: This puts the load on your CPU, (i5, i7 etc). You'll get 60 fps usually, but textures on the ground will be completely fucked and lots of effects missing. Otherwise you will get some lags here and there. I also recommend you going to the sound tab and use the Async mix. HOWEVER Ace Combat games are notorious for having some huge errors with hardware rendering mode. AC4 doesn't emulate well to this day, but 5 and zero perfectly fine, specially on OpenGL software emulation. If you have even a decent graphics card it will kick a PS2's game ass and run it really well. Hardware rendering: Uses your GPU (Graphics Card) to render. I recorded it in 4k to get the best possible quality. For anyone that is wondering here is the quick break down. Ace Combat 4 (Distant Thunder) on the PCSX2 PS2 emulator for Windows PC.
